Welcome Back Sunday: A Day of Fellowship,Memories, and New Beginnings

There's something special about the start of a new season at church — the familiar faces returning,

the energy in the air, and the sense that we're picking up right where we left off, only stronger.

Welcome Back Sunday brought all of that and so much more.

Memories Worth Keeping

As members gathered and began wading through items pulled from the storage cages, a wave of

nostalgia swept through the gym. Someone spotted the tablecloths and signage from the Strawberry

Festival. Another uncovered the banners and supplies from the Men's Chili Cookoff. Just like that,

stories started flowing — memories of sunlit afternoons, friendly competition over who had the best

pot of chili, and children with strawberry-stained fingers running between the booths. Those events

brought us together in the past, and here we were, together again, surrounded by the reminders of

shared joy.

Giving Cherished Items New Purpose

The decision to pull everything out of the cages wasn't just about decluttering — it was an intentional

effort to give new homes to cherished items and pass along vital supplies to a greater cause.

Everything was hauled out and arranged in the gym for all to see: tables, decorations, kitchenware,

event supplies, and materials accumulated over the years. Members walked through, picking up what

they could use and setting aside items to donate where they were needed most.

It was more than a giveaway — it was an act of stewardship. By clearing out what we no longer use,

we create space for what comes next and ensure that resources don't sit idle when they could be

serving a purpose elsewhere. Decisions are still being made about the remaining items, and we'll

continue working together to find the best path forward for everything that's left.

Good Food, Great Conversation

True to form, the food didn't disappoint. Tables were set up with a wonderful spread, and the gym

hummed with the sound of conversation catching up after the summer. New faces mixed with longtime

members. Kids darted between the tables. There's a particular warmth that comes from breaking

bread together, and this Sunday was a perfect reminder of that.

Looking Ahead to Fall

Between bites and laughter, information was shared about the events and programs coming this fall.

Ministry groups reunited for another season of service and study, reconnecting after the summer

break and welcoming new members into the fold. There's a lot to look forward to, and the excitement

in the room made it clear that people are ready to dive in.

Joy in the Little Things

The children, of course, had their own highlight — the moonbounce. Their laughter echoed through

the gym and out into the parking lot as they bounced, played, and enjoyed each other's company. It's

always a gift to watch them make new friends and deepen the ones they already have, growing up

together in the church family.

Gratitude

Welcome Back Sunday reminded us of who we are as a community — people who show up for one

another, who remember where we've been, and who step forward together into what's next. We are

grateful to God for such a time as this.
