Celebrating Our Partnership with Potomac Glen Day School

During our regular worship service on October 18, Potomac United Methodist Church celebrated a partnership that has been part of our community since 1992. We were delighted to recognize Potomac Glen Day School (PGDS) and present Sarahbella Young, owner and program manager, with the Hand to Heart Service Award and a bouquet of flowers in appreciation of the school’s longstanding commitment to our shared community.
Our relationship with PGDS has always been about more than sharing a building. The school began in our old building, and its input helped shape the design of the school portion of the Parish Center. From those early days to today, our history reflects a spirit of partnership—working together to support children, welcome families, and care for our neighbors. Since 2008, that partnership has included our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Angel Tree projects. In her remarks during the service, Sarahbella spoke about supporting these efforts and the opportunity they provide for the school and church to serve together. We are grateful for the generosity of the PGDS community and the many ways its participation helps us extend care to others during the holiday season.
Growing Together Through Parenting Together
Sarahbella also highlighted a new chapter in our relationship: Parenting Together, monthly parenting sessions for parents and young children. Held on the second Sunday of each month, this new partnership will offer another opportunity for our church and school communities to connect and support families.
The first session is scheduled for November 8. We look forward to welcoming families as we begin this next shared endeavor.
The October 18 recognition was an opportunity to pause, say thank you, and celebrate all that we have built together. We are grateful to Sarahbella and the entire Potomac Glen Day School community for their continued partnership, their willingness to serve, and their care for children and families.
We look forward to continuing this work together—with grateful hearts and a shared commitment to our community.
