Celebrating Five Years of Love: Potomac Church's Back-to-School Blessing

As August approaches and the new school year draws near, Potomac Church is once again filled with excitement and purpose. For the fifth consecutive year, our congregation stands together to bring encouragement and hope to the incredible youth of Fox Chapel Elementary School. This annual mission is more than tradition—it's a testament to faith, generosity, and unwavering community spirit.

A Legacy of Giving

What began as a simple desire to help has blossomed into a powerful movement. Over the past five years, the members of Potomac Church have generously donated more than 250 book bags. These aren’t just book bags—they’re symbols of love, support, and the belief that every child deserves a chance to succeed.

Impacting the Next Generation

Every year, these donations make a tangible difference:

  • Restoring Confidence: A new book bag filled with crisp supplies brightens a child’s face and boosts self-esteem.

  • Easing Burdens: Families facing financial challenges feel relief and gratitude, knowing their community cares.

  • Sparking Hope: Each backpack is a reminder to a young person that they’re valued and not alone on their journey.

Inspiring Action

The heart of this tradition isn’t only about the numbers. It’s about inspiring acts of kindness that ripple outwards:

“When we give, we plant seeds of hope that can change a community—and a future—for the better.”

As we celebrate five years of supporting Fox Chapel youth, Potomac Church renews its commitment to love in action. Let every backpack handed out spark not just a successful school year, but a lifelong journey of hope, faith, and dreams fulfilled.

A Call to Our Community

Whether you’ve donated book bags, volunteered, or offered encouragement, you are part of this beautiful story. Thank you for making a difference!

Let’s look forward to another amazing year—and many more to come—of reaching out and lifting up the next generation, one backpack at a time. Together, we truly are changing lives.
